Taiwan’s varied geography makes for dramatic riding and offers an array of spectacular environments.  In the mountains are crystal clear lakes, hidden waterfalls, and untouched alpine scenery.  The rugged east coast, with its towering granite cliffs and fertile rift valleys, is an absolute must see.  The south provides golden beaches and lush terrain while the inner west includes the magnificent Sun Moon Lake, Alishan, and a fantastic immersion into Taiwan’s indigenous culture.

Quite simply, if you are serious about riding then you owe it to yourself to experience the best.  It really is that good!

Tour de Taiwan

A brilliant 8 day tour from the top of Taiwan to the bottom that provides world-class riding, exceptional scenery, and a fun mardi-gras style tour finish.  The tour commences from the hot spring laden hills of Yangmingshan overlooking Taipei before moving out to the beautiful NE Coastal Scenic Area.  From here we move inland on tea-lined mountain roads and river filled valleys that take us over to eastern Taiwan.  Stage 3 takes us deep into the alpine terrain of the central mountains as we work our way up to the highest road point in NE Asia.  With splendid views all around, we enjoy a fantastic downhill to the hot springs of Central Taiwan before riding through the betel nut plantations to Sun Moon Lake.  With a half days ride we get to enjoy the many attractions around this glistening lake before heading back up into the mountains and a scintillating 3200m plus downhill to the rift valley on the east coast.  We stay in soothing hot spring resorts as we work our way down the rift valley on a mixture of fast undulating coastal and inner rift valley terrain that is pure bliss.  The tour finale is an adrenaline buzzing ride through the lush rolling valleys and coastal roads that lead to Kenting where we get to let the hair down and celebrate the completion of the tour, Tour de Taiwan style!

The Beautiful Island Tour

A 5-7 day tour that takes you from Central Taiwan down to the south of Taiwan through an amazing array of mountain ranges and coastal terrain.  We start the Beautiful Island Tour from the breathtaking natural landscape of Sun Moon Lake before working our way out through the plains and up the Central Mountain Range.  Stopping to enjoy some superb local culture, cuisine and hot springs on the way up we continue over the top and commence the spine-tingling 3200m Taroko Gorge downhill.  Emerging out onto the east coast we pass by marble laden rivers, beautiful lakes, and picturesque rice paddies to reach our overnight butterfly valley hot spring resort.  We then work our way over to the coast with its terrific scenery and sleepy fishing villages before cutting inland and riding through the rice laden Bad Lands.  After yet more soothing hot springs we commence the dazzling climb up the Southern Mountain Range with an array of alpine scenery that will leave you awe-struck.  Passing through the edge of Yushan National park we commence a wondrous downhill to the western plains and yet more hot springs.  A fantastic itinerary that has it all – brilliant riding, superb local culture, endless hot springs and world-class scenery!

The Central Cordillera Tour

The Central Cordillera Tour is an extension of the Beautiful Island Tour with an additional 3 days riding at the end that takes you back to your starting point at Sun Moon Lake.  Many say this is the grandest tour available in Taiwan as it takes you through the whole of the Central Cordillera while also including the very impressive rift valley on the east along with Alishan and Sun Moon Lake on the west.  This itinerary offers a smorgasbord of alpine riding with big climbs, massive downhill’s and fast undulating riding in between.  Put that together with the impressive number of hot spring resorts, excellent cuisine, fantastic local culture, and endless mountain vistas and you an itinerary that is on par with the best in the world!

Ilha Formosa – The Grand Island Tour

Want to ride the whole way around Taiwan?  This is it, the Ilha Formosa Grand Island Tour.  A customizable itinerary that takes between 10-16 days depending on your preferences, level, and preferred terrain.  We only use the ‘rider friendly’ back roads and keep away from the all the big cities and traffic wherever possible.  The accommodation venues are carefully selected for their unique locations in scenic locations which include hot springs wherever possible along with lots of excellent local cuisine.  A superb adventure that provides you with the very best that Taiwan has to offer, and more!

Tour de Hokkaido

During the summer months, June to September, we offer a unique Tour de Hokkaido that takes you on a superb tour of the Northern Japanese Island.  Hokkaido is a region of huge natural beauty and untamed wilderness.  An extensive land that accounts for 22% of Japans total land mass, Hokkaido is home to only 5% of Japans population making it a superb destination that has huge untapped riding potential.  With high quality uncrowded roads, soothing onsens to relax in at the end of the day, and an abundance of mouth watering local cuisine, Hokkaido is a superb holiday destination.  With optional starts in either Tokyo or Sapporo this 7 stage tour includes:

• Riding up to the highest road point in Hokkaido, Mt. Tokachidake at 1261m
