Fulong – NE Coastal Scenic Area

One of north Taiwan’s best beaches surrounded by a ring of lush mountains, Fulong is a gateway to the NE Coastal region and the perfect base to explore from.  With accommodation ranging from high-end to cabins to camping, Fulong and the surrounding NE Coastal Scenic Area offers plenty of action in a seaside location less than 90min from Taipei.

Pinglin – The Tea Forest

Situated on the picturesque Beishi River and famous for its locally grown fragrant tea, Pinglin is a beautiful mountain retreat packed with steep emerald mountains, picture perfect terraces, lush terrain and clear, swimmable rivers.  Located less than 30min from Taipei yet far removed from the big city traps, Pinglin offers an abundance of activities and plenty of fun for all ages.

Wulai – Wulai Scenic Area

Lying in a hot spring valley 25km south of Taipei, Wulai offers divine mountain scenery, is a traditional home of the Atayal aboriginal tribe, and offers a great place to relax and experience some top-notch adventure.  With an abundance of hot springs resorts along with basic accommodation, a Wulai adventure trip can also be as rough or as pampered as you like.  The further out from Wulai the more wild and lush it gets with gorges, forests, and steep mountains.

Fuxing –Northern Cross Island Link

A superb location overlooking an arm of the Shihmen Reservoir and a former summer retreat of Chiang Kai-shek.  With a strong Atayal influence Fuxing offers undiluted aboriginal culture, delicious mountain cuisine and a stunning adventure playground.  Surrounded by towering mountains and rushing rivers Fuxing is great place to get off the beaten track and explore some serious terrain.

Hualien – The Rugged East Coast

A haven of Arcadian charms cut off from the country’s crowded west and north by the cloud-piecing Central Cordillera, the region offers an amazing array of geological wonders and adventure opportunities.  With a number of excellent locations in close proximity including the brilliant Taroko Gorge and charming East Rift Valley, the Hualien Basin offers some serious adventure and super scenery.  Include the fantastic accommodation and delightful local culture and this place has it all!
