Get set to celebrate the 2010 New Year in Kenting, a tropical adventure paradise offering beaches, surf, museums, hot springs, traditional culture, good western food, fun nightlife, a genuine beach community atmosphere and some of the best cross-country mountain biking in Taiwan!
Straddling Taiwan’s southern tip and bounded by sea on three sides, Kenting National Park is one of Taiwan’s most popular tourist destinations offering a warm tropical climate and magnificent white-sand beaches. Taiwan’s first national park, Kenting covers most of the Hengchuen Peninsula, which sits at the confluence of fault lines and tectonic plates. As a result, the peninsula has been pushed, pulled and twisted into a complex network of low–lying mountains, grassy meadows, steep cliffs, sand dunes and elaborate coral formations….perfect adventure terrain!
Despite its remarkably varied natural scenery, much of the region is overlooked by visitors, the majority of whom relish the amusement-park atmosphere of the main tourist areas around Kenting Township. With so many tourists clinging to these more developed spots, much of the park remains relatively quiet allowing those with a sense of adventure a wonderful opportunity to explore and experience first-hand this stunning tropical paradise and some of the best adventure terrain in Asia!
Taiwan is home to arguably the best cross-country mountain biking terrain in Taiwan and includes an abundance of buffalo pasture farmlands with both single & double track, fast 4WD jeep tracks, rocky technical downhill’s, river crossings, coastal trails and some good uphill’s to boot!
